WASHINGTON President Joe Biden met Friday with leading House Democrats who aim to put his $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package on a fast track to becoming law, drawing on new signs of strain in the economy to push for its approval.
“We can’t do too much here, we can do too little,” he told them. “Real, live people are hurting. And we can fix it. And we can fix it and the irony of all ironies is when we help them, we are also helping our competitive capacity, through the remainder of this decade.”
The House voted on Thursday to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her two committee assignments over her past endorsements of violence and promotion of conspiracy theories.
With a bipartisan vote of 230-199, 11 Republicans joined with Democrats to oust Greene from the Committee on Education and Labor and the House Budget Committee, Fox News report.
House Republicans appointed Marjorie Taylor Greene to both panels last month after the Georgia freshman was sworn into Congress.
Democrats said they were forced to take action to uphold the standards of decency in Congress as GOP leadership earlier refused to penalize Marjorie Taylor Greene for the incendiary remarks she made before she was elected last November.

The House of Representatives voted Thursday to strip Georgia Republican Congressmember Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments over her history of violent and racist rhetoric. Two hundred nineteen House Democrats voted in favor of sanctioning Congressmember Greene. All but 11 House Republicans voted against taking such action.
Ahead of the vote, Congressmember Greene refused to apologize for her past remarks â including support for murdering House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic comments. During an eight-minute speech from the House floor, Greene said “school shootings are absolutely real,” “9/11 absolutely happened,” and claimed she had stopped believing in the QAnon conspiracy theory “later in 2018.”

WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden on Friday sent his strongest message yet that he intends to move forward on his economic relief plan without Republican support, as the House gave final approval to a budget bill that will allow him to do just that.
The House voted 219-209 to approve the budget plan, which the Senate had already passed early Friday morning, beginning the process of turning Biden s stimulus proposal into legislation. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said Friday she aims to pass Biden s stimulus plan through the House within two weeks.
