A 39-year-old Oxnard man died after he was stabbed multiple times on Tuesday night, according to the Oxnard Police Department.
The victim was reported around 6:15 p.m. in the 5500 block of Cypress Road across from East Clara Street. The location is part of the Cypress Gardens neighborhood on the southeastern edge of the city.
Police arrived on the scene of an abandoned agricultural lot to find the victim suffering multiple stab wounds. By the time paramedics arrived on scene, he had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The victim was stabbed with some kind of edged weapon or sharp object on the premises, according to Sgt. Edgar Fernandez, of the Oxnard Police Department s Major Crimes Unit.

A 16-year-old from Oxnard found shot in the head on a south Oxnard street last month died a week after his injury, the Oxnard Police Department said Tuesday.
The male victim was found around 8:35 p.m. April 29 in the 200 block of James Avenue, police initially reported.
A passerby spotted the teen lying on the sidewalk and reported he had suffered at least one gunshot wound to the head. The victim was transported to Los Robles Regional Medical System in Thousand Oaks for treatment, where he was taken off life support on May 6, Oxnard police said.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, which remains under ongoing investigation by the Oxnard Police Department s Major Crimes Unit. Police were investigating possible motives, including whether the shooting was gang-related. Investigators also said it was undetermined whether the location of the victim is where the shooting took place.
