A Fort Dodge man was arrested over the weekend on charges of attempted murder after police say he intentionally hit a pedestrian with his vehicle on Saturday night. According to a release from the Fort Dodge Police Department, Fort Dodge resident Edward E. Brown, 52, is charged with attempted murder, a Class B felony; willful injury causing serious injury, a Class C felony; and assault with a dangerous weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Fort Dodge man convicted in Casey s robbery | News, Sports, Jobs

kwingert@messengernews.net A Webster County jury has convicted a Fort Dodge man of committing an armed robbery at Casey’s General Store, 2007 N. 15th St. Aries Nzgoi McGee, 24, was found guilty of first-degree robbery, a Class B forcible felony, on Friday. McGee was accused of flashing a handgun at the store clerk and demanding money from the register and safe on Oct. 28, 2020. McGee left the convenience store with $282 in cash. The robbery was discovered after a 911 hang up call from the Casey’s General Store came into the Webster County Telecommunications Center just before midnight. Officers were sent after dispatchers attempted to call the store back and received no answer.

edecious@messengernews.net A Fort Dodge man was arrested Monday afternoon after police received reports of a physical altercation on one street and unsubstantiated reports of shots fired on another street. Josh Kiplinger, 29, is charged with carrying weapons, an aggravated misdemeanor, and fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor. The Webster County Telecommunications Center received a report of an assault in the 300 block of First Street Northwest shortly after 4 p.m., with information indicating two men had a physical altercation before one left the area. Later, Fort Dodge Police said they learned both went to the 700 block of Seventh Avenue North, where the argument continued.
