Man arrested in connection with June 2020 shooting | News, Sports, Jobs

Isiah Mosley The investigation into the June 16, 2020, double homicide in Pleasant Valley resulted in an additional arrest on Thursday. According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, 18-year-old Isiah C. Mosley, of Fort Dodge, was arrested and charged with second-degree kidnapping, a Class B felony, and felon in possession of a firearm, a Class D felony. Police say that when the shooting in the 900 block of 10th Avenue Southwest started on June 16, an unnamed male bystander was attempting to flee in his vehicle when Mosley jumped onto the hood of the car, holding the bystander at gunpoint and demanding he drive Mosley out of the area. After traveling a short distance, Mosley got off the car and fled on foot.

FD woman arrested for burglary after reported assault | News, Sports, Jobs

edecious@messengernews.net A Fort Dodge woman was arrested Thursday after police said she broke into a home and assaulted someone. Daesha Green, 24, was charged with first-degree burglary, a Class B felony, after her arrest Thursday afternoon. Fort Dodge Police said the Webster County Telecommunications Center received a burglary report at about 6:55 a.m. Thursday about an incident that had occurred earlier in the morning. Police said information gathered from the victim indicated that a woman forced her way into the residence and assaulted the victim before leaving. Green is currently being held in the Webster County Jail. Her initial appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. today in Webster County Magistrate Court.

edecious@messengernews.net A Fort Dodge teen was charged with first-degree robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon Friday after Fort Dodge Police said he robbed a man in his home. Davaris Shivers, 17, made an initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court Friday for the class B and class D felonies, respectively. Criminal complaints said Shivers entered the victims’ home in the 2000 block of South. 12th Street on Jan. 4. There, police say he demanded money from the victims at gunpoint, ordering one to the ground before going through his pockets and fleeing the scene. Shivers was arrested Thursday by Eldora Police on an unrelated charge. In a subsequent interview, criminal complaints said the defendant admitted to going into the house with the intent of theft while armed with a handgun.

Four charged in Halloween bar riot | News, Sports, Jobs

edecious@messengernews.net Four Fort Dodge and Des Moines residents appeared in Webster County Magistrate Court Tuesday on charges of participating in a riot that Fort Dodge Police say happened on Halloween. Jacob Clayton, 24, of Fort Dodge; Josh Coleman, 30, of Fort Dodge; Alexander Pallos, 23, of Des Moines; and Mercedes Rom, 23, of Des Moines; are all charged with participating in a riot, an aggravated misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct fighting or violent behavior, a simple misdemeanor. Fort Dodge police say the incident happened at Brass Monkey on North 10th Street. There, they say the four joined an assault on people inside the bar that left some property damage.

Joshua Christy A Fort Dodge man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting two people and attempting to elude police in a vehicle owned by one of the victims, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department. Joshua J. Christy, 29, is charged with operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, an aggravated misdemeanor; eluding, an aggravated misdemeanor; domestic assault causing bodily injury, a serious misdemeanor; assault causing bodily injury, a serious midemeanor; fifth-degree criminal mischief, a simple misdemeanor; and various traffic offenses. At about 7 a.m. Thursday, police and the Fort Dodge Fire Department responded to 1041 N. 24th St. after an assault was reported.
