Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says a commercial property in Clay is in the running to be developed by a major tech company.
He made the announcement at SU on Monday. Three different companies are looking at potentially turning the White Pine Commerce Park on Route 31 into a computer chip fabrication plant. Schumer said if the site is chosen, it would bring 1000 new jobs to the area.

U.S. Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand , along with local U.S. Reps. Paul Tonko and Elise Stefanik and Syracuse-area Congressman John Katko , signed an April 12 letter to Biden asking him to prioritize funding the CHIPS Act, which passed under the Trump administration s most recent defense bill without a funding mechanism.
