Five people accused of a crime spree across Ohio are in custody after a dangerous standoff with police on Jan. 21.
Sharmeka Canty, 29, Deavon Morgan, 39, Robert Green, 33, and Christina Canty, 28, are each being held at the Cuyahoga County Jail on a $20,000 bond. Another suspect, James Burrows, 38, is being held on a $250,000 bond.
The standoff began at 2 p.m. when 10 Westlake police officers surrounded their car at PNC Bank at Crocker and Detroit roads. An officer tried to speak with the occupants, but Burrows backed into one of the police cars repeatedly to escape. Eventually, the vehicle crashed into the front of the bank, causing minimal damage. There were no injuries to civilians, officers or the suspects, according to police reports.
Westlake Police released new information on the five people from Florida and Texas wanted by several agencies who were arrested after the driver slammed into a cruiser before smashing into the bank on Thursday.
The five arrested, who range from 29-39 years old and have addresses listed in Florida and Texas, are wanted by several agencies for car break-ins and passing fraudulent checks, according to police.

WESTLAKE, Ohio An SUV drove head-on into a bank in Westlake Thursday while trying to flee from police, officials say.
Officers received information about a white GMC Yukon that was allegedly involved in unspecified criminal activity in the area. They located the vehicle in the parking lot of the PNC Bank on Crocker and Detroit Roads and attempted to talk with the people inside.
Authorities claim that is when the driver of the Yukon backed into a police car several times and then drove head-on into the building. The cops arrested five people in the incident, four inside the car and another inside the bank.

WESTLAKE, La. (KPLC) - A Westlake man has been arrested after being accused of attempted second-degree murder for chasing a woman with a machete, according to the Westlake Police Department.
Westlake Police say they were dispatched to Magnolia Street on Jan. 20, 2021, in regards to the incident.
The victim told detectives that she’d gone over to Luis Alberto Quintano Cantero, 34, of Westlake, to talk to him about the two children that they have together. But when she arrived she says Luis was drunk after being up all-night drinking and told her to leave.
