For years the threat of a pandemic was one that was regularly discussed by many in health care and public safety, but when one finally hit it still caught many by surprise.
The coronavirus pandemic has proven to be one of the greatest challenges the world has faced and almost no part has been untouched by its reach, including here in Hunt County, where more than 5,000 people have been infected and more than 160 have died.
Two reported missing/runaway children have been returned home safely.
The Hunt County Sheriffâs Office reported Thursday that it had been investigating the report of two missing/runaway persons; Alana Franco, a 15 year old female from Celeste and Edwin Mendoza Bonilla, a 16 year old male, from Caddo Mills.
Both students at Bland ISD had been reported as missing/runaway by family members. There had been missing posters distributed and the information had been shared many times on social media.
The Hunt County Sheriffâs Office indicated that as of Wednesday afternoon, both individuals have been located, are safe, unharmed and with family members.

A Rains County man has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and armed kidnapping.
It was not immediately known if the charges filed against Scott Patrick Cathcart, 24, of Point, were in connection to the earlier arrests of two Hunt County residents charged in connection with two reported abductions in late March, in which two suspects had previously been charged.
Cathcart was taken into custody early Tuesday morning by deputies with the Hunt County Sheriffâs Office. He was being held in the Hunt County Detention Center in lieu of a total of $900,000 bond on two counts each of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. It was not known whether Cathcart has an attorney or whether he would be filing a writ of habeas corpus with the Hunt County district courts in seeking the appointment of a defense counsel.
