The Hays County Local Health Department reported two COVID-19-related fatalities on Wednesday.
Hays County stated that a San Marcos woman in her 60s and a Kyle woman in her 20s died, raising the coronavirus-related death toll to 243.
The local health department also recorded 35 additional recoveries from COVID-19, 28 new lab-confirmed cases, seven hospitalizations and five hospital discharges on Wednesday, which included information from May 11-12.
The county considers 398 cases active nine fewer than Monday and there have been 18,634 total cases since the onset of the pandemic. Hays County has tallied 655 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,045 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through May 12, 2021.

A San Marcos man in his 70s died of COVID-19, the Hays County Local Health Department reported Monday.
There have now been 241 coronavirus-related fatalities since the first diagnosis of the virus within the county’s boundaries on March 14, 2020.
The local health department also recorded 181 additional recoveries from COVID-19, 45 new lab-confirmed cases, six hospital discharges and four hospitalizations on Monday, which included information from May 8-10.
The county considers 407 cases active 137 fewer than Friday and there have been 18,606 total cases since the onset of the pandemic. Hays County has tallied 730 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,039 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through May 10, 2021.

The county also reports 45 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 May 8-10 and and 181 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,606, total active cases to 407 and recoveries to 17,958. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 730.

The Hays County Local Health Department recorded 63 additional recoveries from COVID-19, 51 new lab-confirmed cases, two hospitalizations and two hospital discharges on Friday, which included information from May 6-7.
The county considers 544 cases active 13 more than Wednesday and there have been 18,561 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within the county’s boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 870 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,039 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through May 7, 2021.
Sixteen county residents are currently hospitalized by COVID-19 and there have been 858 total hospitalizations with the fluctuation in hospitalizations and hospital discharges reported Friday. Some patients hospitalized by COVID-19 are in hospitals outside of Hays County but are included in the county’s numbers if they reside within Hays County, the local health department said.
