Hays County reports 73 new COVID-19 cases

Michele DuPont The Hays County Local Health Department reports 73 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, 29 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,471, total active cases to 342 and recoveries to 18,865. There have been a total of 264 COVID-19-related fatalities in the county since the start of the pandemic. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 438. San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 105, 120 and 67 active cases, respectively. According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 184,888. The total number of hospitalizations is 931 and total current hospitalizations is 13 after one person was hospitalized and two were discharged.

Friday, July 16, 2021 Hays County recorded 239 new COVID-19 cases between July 10-16, raising its active case count to over 300 as of Friday.  The Hays County Local Health Department tallied 73 new lab-confirmed cases, 29 additional recoveries, two hospital discharges and one hospitalization on Friday, which included information from July 15-16.  The county considers 342 active cases 44 more than Wednesday. Hays County saw its lowest active count this year at 125 during its June 8-9 report. There have been 19,471 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 438 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,150 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through July 14, 2021.

Hays County tallies 56 new COVID-19 cases, 35 recoveries Wednesday

Wednesday, July 14, 2021 Hays County’s COVID-19 active case count continues to rise with nearly 300 active cases currently recorded as of Wednesday.  The Hays County Local Health Department reported 56 new lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases, 35 additional recoveries, two hospital discharges and one hospitalization on Wednesday, which included information from July 13-14.  The county considers 298 active cases 22 more than Monday. Hays County saw its lowest active count this year at 125 during its June 8-9 report. There have been 19,404 total cases since the first diagnosis of the virus within its boundaries on March 14, 2020. Hays County has tallied 402 COVID-19 cases over the past 21 days. There have been 2,136 probable cases spanning from April 2020 through July 14, 2021.

Hays County reports one new COVID-19 fatality, 110 new COVID-19 cases

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19 related fatality July 12, a Woodcreek man in his 80s. There have been a total of 264 fatalities in the county. The county also reported 110 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 31 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 19,348, total active cases to 277 and recoveries to 18,807. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 359. San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 77, 109 and 54 active cases, respectively. According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 183,501. The total number of hospitalizations is 929 and total current hospitalizations is 15 after 11 people were hospitalized and four were discharged.
