BELLINGHAM, Wash. Two zero-emission buses have arrived in Whatcom County to serve transit routes throughout the county.
Whatcom Transportation Authority spokesperson Maureen McCarthy says they’ll have about a 150-mile range.
They seat 36 passengers with a total capacity of 75, can be fully charged in under four hours and are super quiet.
The electric buses are expected to enter service in June.

FERNDALE, Wash. Vandals have been targeting public transportation signs in Ferndale.
Spokesperson for the City of Ferndale, Riley Sweeney, says the Ferndale Police Department is asking for help from the public in stopping the vandalism of bus signs throughout Ferndale.
He says a number of Whatcom Transit Authority bus signs and schedules have been frequently vandalized with black spray paint in the past month.
If community members spot the vandals spray painting signs, they are urged to call 911.
