In a circular letter dated January 26, Caceres Archbishop Rolando Tirona said that athough the regular Wednesday Mass Confirmation at the Good Shepherd Chapel at the Archbishop’s residence has resumed, the current situation still requires a “prudent action” in order to contribute in efforts to combat COVID-19 in the country.
“For this reason, by virtue of Canon 882, I hereby delegate all parish priest to administer the Sacrament of Confirmation for wedding purposes only scheduled until December 2021 within the Archdiocese,” he said.
Tirona said this special delegation, which cannot be subdelegated, is valid until December 31, 2021 or except earlier revoked.

Aside from bringing the Good News to others, a Catholic prelate has challenged the faithful to rediscover their faith this Year of Missio Ad Gentes (Mission to All Nations).
Caceres Archbishop Rolando Tirona explained that the first step in taking up the challenge of bringing the Good News is “to renew once again our understanding of the faith.”

He added that faith in Jesus is the greatest gift to Filipino Catholics. The prelate lamented that while most Catholics are “sacramentalized but not fully evangelized.”
