PM Imran Takes Notice of Gas Load Shedding in Pakistan
Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has taken notice of the load shedding of gas across the country and has called for a meeting on the on-going energy crisis.
The premier will be appraised by the federal ministers, special assistants, advisers, and concerned secretaries about the measures taken by the authorities to overcome the shortage of gas, and the initiatives that the government has taken for reforms in the sector. He will also be briefed about the demand and supply of power in the country in the meeting.

Earlier, the Petroleum Division officials had stated that an increase in the load-shedding of gas had been due to a four-day delay of the LNG cargo from Nigeria.

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet on Thursday “endorsed” Rs739 billion Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP) and allowed revision in the Master Plan for five terminals at Port Qasim. The committee also approved in principle the launch of $500 million international bond by Wapda.
The meeting of the ECC presided over by Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh also ordered shelving three LPG air-mix plants in Chitral and allowed duty and tax free import of oxygen tanks for Covid-19 patients.
Govt appoints permanent heads of SNGPL and SSGC

ISLAMABAD, (Dunya News) - The government on Wednesday appointed permanent Managing Directors (MDs) of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), Dunya News reported.
According to the Establishment Division notifications, shared by the Petroleum Division, Ali Javed Hamdani and Imrani Maniar have been appointed as MDs/CEOs of SNGPL and SSGC respectively with immediate effect on contract basis for a period of three years.
It is pertinent to mention here that the approval of appointment of Managing Directors of SNGPL and SSGC was given by the federal cabinet during its previous meeting.
ECC Allows WAPDA to Issue $500 Million Eurobonds
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, chaired the meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) today.
Ministry of Water Resources presented a summary for the issuance of Water and Power Development Authority’s (WAPDA) debut $500 million Eurobonds to arrange finances for Diamer Basha and Mohmand Dams.
The ECC approved the issuance of $500 million Eurobonds and directed the Minister of Water Resources to work out the modalities in consultation with the Finance Division and the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Ministry of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives presented a detailed presentation on Karachi Transformation Plan (KTP) before ECC. The forum discussed the plan thoroughly and endorsed, in principle, with the direction to secure approval from all relevant quarters before submission to Cabinet. The Chair directed to follow all codal formalities regarding various components of KTP.
