The contract will support 141 skilled jobs at the port in Tain during the peak construction period, SSE Renewables and Total said. That number will include work for 93 permanent roles already on site, in addition to 48 new posts to be advertised in the coming months.

Global Energy, Rosetti Marino form substations team

Scotland’s Global Energy Group and fabricator Rosetti Marino of Italy have formed a strategic partnership to produce offshore substations for the offshore wind sector. The five-year agreement will see the pair tender and executive a range of scopes, including full turnkey offerings. GEG, which operates the Nigg offshore wind port ( pictured), and Rosetti intend to offer technical and fabrication solutions to customers who are helping the UK achieve its 2050 net zero target, with a strong focus on UK local content. The partners will also offer platform electrification, gas to wire and hydrogen transition opportunities in the wider UK offshore sector.
