SKOWHEGAN, Maine Skowhegan Area High School will remain remote through Tuesday.
Two people have tested positive for COVID-19 causing ten staff members and 95 students to quarantine.
According to superintendent Jon Moody, This situation was a unique one in that we aren’t electing to go remote because of a COVID-19 case or spread. We made the decision as we don’t have enough staffing at SAHS to run in-person school over the next two days.

WATERVILLE Shannon Haines, who has for many years championed the arts, film, culture and economic development in the city, has been appointed the new president and chief executive officer of Waterville Creates!
Haines, 40, of Waterville, starts the job Oct. 1 and will be based at The Center at 93 Main St. downtown. A nonprofit organization funded by foundation grants, Waterville Creates! promotes arts and culture in Waterville and focuses on providing marketing, advertising and program support for its five core partners the Maine Film Center, the Waterville Opera House, Waterville Public Library, Waterville Main Street and the Colby College Museum of Art.

105 students, staff impacted at Skowhegan Area High School after additional COVID-19 case
The high school shifted to remote learning on Friday and the administration is looking for ways to staff the building in order to resume hybrid learning on Monday.

Over 100 students and staff have been impacted after an additional case of COVID-19 was reported at Skowhegan Area High School on Friday.
In a letter sent to the community on Friday evening, School Administrative District 54 Superintendent Jon Moody said that there were two cases reported on Friday; one at the high school and another at Skowhegan Area Middle School. On Thursday, a case of COVID-19 was reported at the high school, resulting in a remote learning day on Friday for students.
