The street was repaired from damage caused in the Flood of 2019. Williams Street is on a list of “protected” streets designated by the Alton City Council that requires bricks to be replaced after any repair. ALTON Workers from Stutz Excavating, Inc., on Thursday were tasked with the job of replacing the bricks one at a time on Williams Street in Alton. The street has been repaired from damage caused by the Flood of 2019. Workers have poured a concrete layer on which the original bricks will be replaced.
