221+ member and brave Longford mother Lynsey Bennett will feature in a TV documentary on cancer care which will be broadcast on TG4 on May 12.
When Evelyn O’Rourke was on maternity leave with her first child she discovered that she was pregnant for the second time.
Within a week of this wonderful news her world came crashing down around her when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Now 10 years on with the CervicalCheck controversy still unresolved, Evelyn investigates what sort of experience women who are diagnosed with cancer have today.

It is eight years since the project to co-locate the new National Maternity Hospital (NMH) at the Elm Park campus of St Vincent’s hospital was announced. Four years ago, a wave of public outrage followed the realisation, after years of dispute and mediation, that the new NMH would be owned 100 per cent by the Religious Sisters of Charity, then and still today the sole shareholders of St Vincent’s Healthcare Group (SVHG).

There is some of that. âFor 20 years, every 28 days Iâve taken an injection to help keep my disease at bay,â Gorman explains. âItâs like a monthly fill of petrol. You can feel the engine chugging towards the end of each month.â
