STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Family, friends and police have boots on the ground and helicopters overhead as the search continues on Wednesday for a 63-year-old mother who was reported missing after leaving Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze.
Dorothy Syversten of Midland Beach was captured on surveillance video leaving the hospital on Monday night “and then absolutely nothing after that,” according to daughter, Nicole Lambert.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. A traffic pole was brought down by a crash on Hylan Boulevard in Grasmere on Tuesday morning.
The traffic signal was down in the median strip where the crash was called at 9:49 a.m. at Parkinson Avenue and Hylan.
One person was transported to Staten Island University Hospital in Ocean Breeze, according to a spokesman for the FDNY/EMS.

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Police have identified the woman killed in a Friday morning car crash that occurred in Todt Hill.
Nasreen Goondall, 31, was the driver of the white Nissan sedan that lost control and struck a tree about 150 feet south of the intersection of Todt Hill Road and Four Corners Road, according to an NYPD press release.
The white sedan suffered significant front-end damage and its airbags were deployed.
