Dr. Anastasios Koularmanis, Director of Education, Mrs. Athena Kromidas President of the High Council for Greek Education, and Dr. Zoe Gavrilidou Vice Rector of Academic Affairs and Student Welfare of Democritus University of Thrace announce a collaboration to provide training and professional development for teachers in the Archdiocese. With financial support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the Department of Greek Education and Democritus University of Thrace will provide training to help teachers succeed in delivering online and in class instruction.

Don Giovanni by Mozart is the first international co-productions of the National Opera, which was programmed to create and premiere in Athens and then to travel and bring the other two opera houses participating in the co. Due to the pandemic, the production was not presented to the public and is presented in the first world broadcast by GNO TV. The production of Don Giovanni and GNO TV were realized with the support of the donation of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (ISN) [ www.SNF.org] to enhance the artistic extroversion of the National Opera.

Black leaders encourage Hopkins students to be forces of change on campus

FILE PHOTO Protesters gathered in front of the Hopkins sign in June to demand racial equality. The Black Student Union (BSU) and the Black Student Athlete Association hosted a panel discussion on Feb. 26 about students’ role in transformative justice both on and off campus.  The event, sponsored by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Agora Institute, featured Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott’s senior advisor Marvin James, activist Bilphena Yahwon and Reverend Kobi Little, who graduated from Hopkins in 1994. Scott was supposed to speak, but he was unable to attend due to an emergency.  James spoke about his experiences working with people of different racial backgrounds to create opportunities for Black community members.
