BOE to meet Thursday
The East Muskingum Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m Thursday, at the John Glenn High School Library.
April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month
The staff of the Haven of Hope has displayed teal ribbons at the Guernsey County Courthouse, Cambridge Municipal Court and at the Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office as April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Additionally, the courthouse will be illuminated with teal lights to show support to victims of sexual assault. One in five women have experienced rape or attempted rape in their lifetime. One in 60 seven men have experience rape or attempted rape in their lifetime. Every 98 seconds an American is sexually assaulted. Two leaks led to an overnight water outage last week in Cumberland.
Crews began repairs around 10 p.m. Feb 2, and were done by noon the next day. Leaks occured in a field between Main and Carl Streets and along North Broad Street.

On Feb. 13, 2011, the Cumberland area was shocked by the announcement that the body of a murder victim had been found along Howell Road. It brought local and regional news crews to the area. There were a lot of questions in residents’ minds at the time. Most of the questions remain unanswered.
