” … Hudson County Democrats have a negative net worth when debts they owe are subtracted from their cash-on-hand,” ELEC said in a statement today, also noting that the figures used for this statewide study should be considered preliminary.
While the HCDO reports $14,404.92 cash on hand in their July 15th report with the agency, ELEC notes that they have $138,774.40 of debt and therefore are in the red $124,369.48.
“Cash-on-hand is an important barometer of a political committee’s financial strength,”
noted ELEC Executive Director Jeff Brindle.
“While overall county party fund-raising has been lagging largely due to the pandemic, the collective war chest of more than $3 million is certainly respectable at this point in the election year.

The three independent Jersey City council-at-large candidates expressed confidence about upsetting those running on Mayor Steven Fulop’s ticket during a fundraiser at The Factory for Elvin Dominici last night.
Hector Oseguera, a member of the Progressive Democrats of Hudson County who served as the emcee for the evening, said Dominici is putting himself out there in the political sphere to fight for a better, fairer Jersey City.
Later, Chris Gadsden, a former Ward B councilman who is now running at-large, said he’s proud to call Dominici a friend who will battle for what’s right and the results in the fall may shock some people.
