Officials have identified an 11-year-old girl and her infant brother who both died after she rushed back into the family's burning Jersey City home Wednesday night to try to rescue the baby, according to officials.

A fatal fire claimed the lives of 11-year-old Desire Reid and her 8-month-old brother Keyon Robinson. They are survived by mother Angela Reid and brother Aamil Reid.
After two children were killed in a Jersey City fire, two GoFundMe pages are raising money for the mourning family.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office, just after 11:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 10, the Jersey City Fire Department responded to a working fire at 470 Martin Luther King Drive.
Firefighters encountered a heavy single-alarm fire and smoke conditions confined to a single apartment.

JERSEY CITY, NJ - With windows broken, building debris scattered in the bushes, the inside first floor incinerated, and the banister leading upstairs splintered, local fire officials, along with representatives from the Hudson County Prosecutor s Office and the Office of Emergency Management, made their way into the dark interior of the Martin Luther King Drive home carrying flashlights, shovels, and other instruments to sort through the remains left after the previous night’s fire.
Investigators probed the dark interior looking for clues, attempting to determine the cause of the tragedy that claimed the lives of two children.
Cyclist suffers serious injuries in hit-and-run on Kearny highway

A hit-and-run crash on Route 1&9 in Kearny has left a cyclist with serious injuries, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office said Friday morning.
The HCPO’s Regional Collision Investigation Unit is investigating the crash that occurred near Jacobus Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. No other details were immediately available.
