Will possibly discuss issues related to the farmers’ protest Facing heat over the ongoing six-week-long farmers’ agitation, Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi later in the day to possibly discuss issues related to the protest.
Chautala is the leader of Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) which is an alliance partner in the BJP-led government in Haryana. A section of JJP MLAs is believed to have been facing pressure from the agitating farmers.
In a statement, the JJP said Dushyant Chautala will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi today.

Thousands of farmers, mostly from Haryana and Punjab, have been protesting at several border points of Delhi since November 28 last year
They are demanding a repeal of the three laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price for their crops
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Tuesday (January 12) stayed the implementation of new farm laws till further orders. The top court also decided to set up a 4-member committee to resolve the impasse between the Centre and farmers unions protesting at Delhi borders.
NCP president Sharad Pawar welcomed the top court s decision to stay the implementation of three farm laws and set up of a panel to resolve the impasse. In a tweet, Pawar said A welcome decision taken by the Apex Court of India to put on hold the implementation of three farm bills and set up a four-member committee to resolve the issues. #SupremeCourt #FarmLaws.

Khattar, Dushyant Chautala to meet Amit Shah in Delhi today
Top leaders of the BJP-JJP alliance, including Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, are set to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Tuesday. According to the details, discussions over the political scenario in the state are on the cards. The development comes after protesting farmers had ransacked the venue of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattarâs âkisan mahapanchayatâ at a Karnal village.Â
Chautala is also set to hold a meeting with JJP MLAs at his farmhouse in Delhi, for which all JJP legislators have been asked to come to the capital today.
