With the announced resignation of Hamilton County Commissioner Chester Bankston at the end of the month, local business executive Jeff Eversole has placed his name into contention to be appointed to the vacated seat.
Mr. Eversole is known for his work in the private sector as the Southeast Tennessee market manager for Walmart Inc. In his current role, he overseas local grants and giving into the community, asset protection, compliance, and daily operations of the corporate conglomerates’ business in Tennessee.

Two high school students from Indiana died in a car crash Saturday on their way to the prom.
The students were identified as Hamilton Heights High School senior Kalen Hart and her prom date, Lendon Byram, a student at Cathedral High School, according to reports. We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own . due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident yesterday, the Hamilton Heights School Corporation wrote. This is an unimaginable loss to these families and our school community.
The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. local time in Arcadia, about 35 miles north of Indianapolis. Both students were dead when officers arrived.

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. (WTHR) - An Indiana high school prom was canceled after two students died on the way to the dance in a car crash with another teen headed there.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office says a car with four teens was headed to prom Saturday night around 5:15 p.m. when they were T-boned at an intersection. The driver and front passenger were killed, and the two in the backseat were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
