HARLEY-DAVIDSON PAN AMERICA (2021 - on) Review

Author: Martin Vauli Vielhaber Updated: Today 09:10 Times change, and those who want to sell new motorbikes have to adapt rapidly to what the market wants – which is particularly true for Harley-Davidson with their cruiser and tourer-heavy portfolio. But what’s surprising is the direction in which H-D are expanding. Anyone expecting a brutish naked (sadly the Bronx project is ‘paused’) will be surprised that the all-new Pan America 1250 Special was chosen to come first. Harley are venturing into a highly competitive segment here – but riding their first serious foray into GS-land reveals an impressively well resolved bike that thankfully bears no resemblance to the failed Buell Ulysses which was released under H-D’s ownership.

Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 coming to India in 2021

The Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 will compete with the BMW R 1250 GS in the Indian market. According to a media report, Harley-Davidson is likely to launch the Pan America 1250 in India later this year. The bike has already been listed on the Indian website. The Pan America 1250 is an adventure bike that is powered by a 1,252cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine. It makes 148 BHP and 127 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch. While V-twin engines are synonymous with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Pan America s engine revs higher and features overhead cams with variable valve timing. The Pan America 1250 comes equipped with fully-adjustable Showa upside-down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 320 mm discs at the front and a single 280 mm disc at the rear.
