High schools across the greater Tampa Bay region are planning in-person graduation ceremonies. Here s a county-by-county breakdown.
As a school year like no other comes to an end, school districts have decided to celebrate commencement with traditional in-person graduation ceremonies although with some COVID-19 restrictions.
While the particulars of each high school graduation ceremony will be unique to each school, here is what school districts across the greater Tampa Bay region are doing to celebrate their graduating seniors.
Hillsborough
Hillsborough County Public Schools 2021 graduation ceremonies will be held at Fairgrounds Expo Hall in Tapma. Each graduate will receive two tickets for guests. Each ticket will be assigned a designated entrance and specific seating area to reduce crowding. Each ceremony will be livestreamed on the district website for those who cannot attend in person.

TAMPA, Fla. The Hillsborough County School District announced in-person high school graduation ceremonies will be held this year at the Florida State Fairgrounds.
Superintendent Addison Davis said the district will put out all the specifics by the end of this week and he also said some other key senior events will also be held this year.

“I know these are memorable events, so we will be making certain that these are approved through our guidelines, and continue working with our local medical experts,” said Superintendent Davis.

TAMPA, Fla. â When it comes to grading the vaccination process in Hillsborough County, Nicole Leonick gives it an A.
âIt was so quick. Normally, I hate getting shots. But it was just so quick and easy. I was like wait, we re done? Weâre good? Ok, she said.
Leonick has been teaching second and third graders from Booker T. Washington Elementary online from her home. But she says after she gets the second shot, sheâll be ready to return to the classroom.
