Henderson man charged with choking woman, breaking her nose HENDERSON, Ky. A Henderson County man accused of choking a woman and breaking her nose was jailed over the weekend. The Henderson County Sheriff s Office charged John Layman, 28, 1700 block of South Green Street, with second-degree assault (domestic violence) and first-degree strangulation. It was also discovered that he was wanted on a parole violation warrant for allegedly escaping from a Kentucky correctional facility in Lexington. He was additionally charged with another warrant for failure to appear.  Sheriff s deputies responded to the emergency room at Deaconess Hospital around 4 a.m. Saturday after staff there began treating a woman who d suffered multiple injuries.

He believes this is because someone dumped paint further upstream, and it made its way down into his property. “There is lots of paint that has come into my pond, and it is probably going to ruin it. I don’t see any fish dead,” said Bryan. “I just hope that it will be cleaned up soon.”

Henderson police searching for driver of stolen vehicle; HCSO arrests 2

HENDERSON, Ky. Authorities are searching for a person who allegedly fled from police in a stolen vehicle. Henderson officials said the incident started on Tuesday, March 2 when officers attempted to stop a black 2014 Mitsubishi Lancer with an Indiana temporary tag at the corner of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and South Adams Street. Authorities said the traffic stop was due to violations including no license plate light and the plate not being legible. HPD said the car turned onto Adams Street and initially pulled over. For unknown reasons, the driver disregarded the police cruiser with its activated emergency lights and continued traveling at a low-speed, stopping at all the stop signs along the way, HPD officials said.

UPDATE: Kenneth Phelps found safe in South Carolina From staff reports The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Kenneth Phelps, who was last seen March 1 in the East Flat Rock area. Phelps, 49, has gray hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 220 pounds.  He is known to drive a burgundy Honda Accord with NC license plate TER-9577. Phelps has multiple tattoos and was last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, black/white shoes and a camouflage ball cap. He has several medical conditions and is believed to be without his medication.
