Rite Aid scheduling vaccine appointments for Jackson County residents eligible to receive them

JACKSON, MI Rite Aid pharmacy locations in Jackson County are now offering COVID-19 vaccinations to those residents eligible to receive them, according to a social media post from the Jackson County Health Department.
On Friday, Feb. 12, Jackson Rite Aid pharmacy locations began administering vaccinations to people in the current eligibility groups, which includes health care providers, first responders, essential workers and those age 65 and older.
Supplies remain limited as COVID-19 vaccine doses administered through the pharmacy are allocated by state and local jurisdictions.
Grand River Brewery severely damaged after car crashes through wall

JACKSON, MI – A speeding driver lost control and crashed into the Grand River Brewery in downtown Jackson Thursday night, causing severe damage to the building.
The driver of a silver Mercury was going west on Louis Glick Highway when the vehicle crossed the east lane, hit a curb and went through an outer wall of the brewery and restaurant at 117 W. Louis Glick Highway, at 9:59 p.m., Feb. 11, Jackson Police Lt. Adam Williams said.
The driver of the vehicle left skid marks on the road heading west, Williams said, adding speed is a factor in the crash.
People age 65 and older, teachers, first responders, police officers and other frontline and essential workers are being vaccinated, health officials said.
