Miantiao lives inside the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver’s upscale third-floor restaurant space, which was previously MARKET by Jean-Georges.
This concept will offer patrons a combination of the two cuisines. The restaurant describes itself as “Italian cuisine elevated with Chinese sensibilities, and Chinese gastronomy uplifted by the elegant simplicity of Italian cuisine.”

The inspiration behind this new eatery comes from the story of a Chinese-Italian couple living in Vancouver who are proud to share their respective cultures and the cuisine they were raised on.
This elevated menu is teasing “culinary innovations” and a “playfully provocative approach” which has our ears perked and mouths salivating already.

Laing Bridge
On May 15, 1976 the Arthur Laing Bridge officially opened, named after a native son of Richmond who became a cabinet minister under Pierre Trudeau, then later a Senator. The $23 million four-lane bridge, which crosses the north arm of the Fraser to Sea Island, vastly speeded up access to the Vancouver International Airport. It reduced the distance from downtown to the airport by more than three kilometres. Traffic had started using the bridge August 27, 1975, but the official opening was May 15, 1976. It’s 1,676 metres (one mile) in total length, and more than 90,000 vehicles use it daily.

Giovane Café, Eatery, and Market, located on the lobby level of the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Coal Harbour, will soon relaunch as a wine bar inspired by Northern Italian food and wine.
Kitchen Table Restaurants acquired the café in August 2020, and temporarily shuttered it before reopening it under the new management by the end of that month.
The design, food and drink menus, and service of the forthcoming Giovane Bacaro, set to open this spring, all draw upon the offerings of Venice.
This new incarnation will include a wine bar, dining room, and lounge.
