• Student researcher Rebecca Floyd, with Drs.
Goldblum, Chu, and Bongar completed a validation study of the CARS Minority Stress Scale, a short clinical measure designed to determine whether clients exhibit clinical levels of minority stress (sexual minority stress, acculturative stress, or non-specific stress) and need to be addressed with therapy.
This measure is currently being incorporated in the STS/InnerLIfe Program designed by PAU Professor Larry Beutler, thus allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of client needs and evidence-based guidance to clients and their therapists.
This scale is a subset of the larger Cultural Assessment of Risk of Suicide (CARS) in collaboration with the Multicultural Suicide Research Center (MSRC) Directed by Drs.
