Learn To Rollerskate YQL was established by Martina Emard/Cherri Blaster, who has been enjoying life on eight wheels since her teens.
In 2010, she joined the Lethbridge Roller Derby Guild as a founding member and retired from active playing in 2016 to focus on refereeing.
In the summer of 2016, she launched Learn to Rollerskate YQL and offered a free community program to teach the basics of skating outdoors.
Topics included basic forward skating technique, basic stops/falls and navigating obstacles.
Her goal is to expand the program into an active rollerskating community..
