Ngoài những ứng dụng toán học, lập trình là một công cụ hữu ích khác mà MaSSP muốn giới thiệu đến với học sinh phổ thông Việt Nam.
Công nghệ thông tin và các ngôn ngữ lập trình là những thuật ngữ quen thuộc với nhiều hệ thống giáo dục trên thế giới bởi những ứng dụng rộng rãi của ngành trong nhiều lĩnh vực khác nhau, từ kinh tế đến kĩ thuật công nghệ.
Tuy nhiên, ở Việt Nam, học sinh chuyên khoa học tự nhiên có ít cơ hội làm quen với lập trình hay tiếp xúc với các phần mềm máy tính, trừ những học sinh chuyên Tin Học.

Vietnam high school’s education contains two concentrations, which are humanity and natural science.
High school natural science concentration’s curriculum has a strong focus on mathematics.
On average, a student in a science gifted program will spend more than 10 hours a week to learn and practice solving math problems.
Despite having a solid foundation in math, Vietnam (VN) high school students rarely have chances to apply those knowledge into engineering and other science subjects.
Thus, the Math & Science Summer Program will provide opportunities for VN high school students to see “math in action.” .
