The Pioneer School is a fee-based home education experiential school for grades 6-8.
Core classes are done on the FL Virtual School platform with 2 adult mentors assisting students with tech issues, progression, and academic questions.
A part-time math tutor comes twice per week.
Afternoons include rich and varying programs such as Spanish, drama, science club, 4-H, cooking, homesteading, web design, art, music, physical education and more that will tie students' core learning to relevant life applications and develop their skills in leadership, citizenship, entrepreneurship, emotional intelligence, technology, and practical life responsibilities.
We focus intently on preparing students for the selective and competitive programs available in high school, such as IB, AICE, Honors/AP, career academies and the arts.
Field studies will include trips to the GTMNERR's research labs, sites with the FL Public Archaeology Network, and to the Fountain of Youth for the Maritime Heritage Foundation's boat building (math) program.
