A 14-YEAR-OLD horserider has scooped up a number of top accolades in quick succession. Poppy Deakin, who turns 15 in September, has tasted success at a number of competitions both abroad and at home. The young rider was part of the 148 GB youth team and won a gold medal riding pony Armene in Wierden, The Netherlands. The following week brought another win, with Poppy securing an international 1.25 on Cita PZ in Belgium. Back on home soil, Poppy later won the 148 championship at the Royal Highland Show this June. The rider’s success comes on the back of a gain at the Rising Stars Awards which held its awards dinner in March last year.
