16 cats removed from Burtchville Twp. home St. Clair County Animal Control removed 16 cats and kittens from a Burtchville Township residence Monday. The seizure came after a complaint of animal neglect and alleged hoarding in the 6000 block of Delaware Drive. Earlier in the week, residents had tried to assist with the removal of approximately 31 cats from the same residence, according to county officials. A search warrant was drafted and executed and county officials seized the remaining 16 cats and kittens. Several of the animals were sick or injured. The floors and most surfaces in the residence were covered in animal urine and feces and the case is expected to be forwarded to the prosecutor's office.
