Show of support: Martin Deacon is a patient at Michael Sobell Hospice, Northwood A FUND-RAISER for Martin Deacon, a lifelong Queens Park Rangers fan who was diagnosed with terminal gall bladder cancer in September, has already raised more than £9,000 for Michael Sobell Hospice. Martin, 53, from Ruislip, now an inpatient at Michael Sobell, Mount Vernon Hospital, has been visiting the unit a couple of days a week since he was diagnosed for respite and care. Martin’s daughter, Katie Deacon, said: “It can be quite daunting coming to visit your family member in a hospice when they are sick. “I remember my first time visiting my dad. I felt very anxious as I didn’t know what to expect. I had no need to worry.
