The John Sykes Foundation is a UK registered charity which has been established to improve the lives and well-being of individuals and communities within the town of Reading where there is an element of disadvantage. A spokesperson said: "The awful Covid-19 pandemic, despite affecting many people directly, has also impacted others indirectly through charities not only finding it far more difficult to fundraise in orthodox ways, but also to hold events, interact, and provide their usual support to individuals, families, and groups, without having face-to-face communication, or even being able to hold one’s hand.
