Halstead Town Council met on Monday to discuss handing out grant money. Groups across Halstead were given the chance to submit an application with the council drawing up a shortlist of just five. With a total cash pot of £4,000, applicants submitted requests for a specific slice of the funding. They also had to tell the council where and how the money would be spent. Now Halstead Council has confirmed five groups have had their requests for funding approved. In total, £2,350 will be distributed among Halstead Day Centre, the 5th Halstead Trinity Guides, Brownies and Rainbows, the Halstead Community Fridge, Halstead Rotary Club and Halstead and District Local History Society.
