2 Alabama prison officers indicted on federal charges in beating of inmate

Two state prison employees have been indicted in the assault of an inmate and for false statements made to investigators after the assault.
The U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday announced the five-count indictment again Staton Correctional Facility Sgt. Devlon Williams, 34, and correctional Officer Larry Managan Jr., 39.
Few details have been released about the incident, including when it happened. According to the DOJ release, the officers used their feet and a collapsible baton to assault the unnamed inmate. Additionally, authorities said, Managan walked on the inmate.
