Two bodies were found in a car recovered from the Nooksack River in Whatcom County, the Ferndale Police Department said.
The department received a report from a pedestrian around 7 p.m. Monday that there were skid marks and car parts in the roadway where Cherry Street turns into Ferndale Road.
Officers responded and saw something submerged in the water, but couldn’t do a search and rescue mission until the morning due to weather.
