2021 Red Cross Finger Lakes Region 'Real Heroes' honored wit

The Finger Lakes Region of the American Red Cross shines a spotlight each year on examples of character and selflessness in the face of adversity with its “Real Heroes” recognition awards.
The Red Cross celebrated this year’s heroes Thursday night at the Elmira Drive-In. Guests heard the stories and saw the images of local heroes from Steuben, Schuyler, and Chemung counties on the big screen.
This was the 12th annual "Real Heroes" celebration. After last year's recognition was strictly virtual due to COVID-19, organizers expressed delight that this year they could stay connected while being socially distant and following CDC guidelines.
