35 foreign women rescued from being exploited by employers in Melaka and PJ


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 35 foreign women, believed to have been exploited by their employers, were rescued following raids in Melaka and Petaling Jaya.
Four suspects, including three employers, are set to face a total of 70 charges on Monday (Dec 21).

(pic) said police conducted five raids in Melaka Tengah on Nov 12 and rescued 32 Indonesian women and a Cambodian woman while two other Indonesian women were rescued after a raid in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
"Those rescued admitted to working for a cleaning service agency, which catered to houses in Melaka.
"The victims aged between 18 and 40, have been working for the agency since 2018 with salaries of between RM900 and RM1,200 a month," he said in a statement on Sunday (Dec 20).
