Fifty-four new covid cases were reported in the Penn-Trafford-Jeannette area between April 13-19, according to data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Since the pandemic began, the six ZIP codes covering most of the three communities have seen a total of 1,988 confirmed cases. As of April 19, there were 1,038 confirmed coronavirus cases, up by 24 since April 13, in the Jeannette 15644 ZIP code, which covers part of Penn Township. There have been 608 probable cases and 4,780 coronavirus tests with negative results. In the 15085 ZIP code, which encompasses Trafford and part of North Huntingdon, the state found 496 cases as of April 19, an increase of 20 cases since April 13. There were 215 probable cases in the ZIP code and 2,013 negative test results.
