Sun-Times file photo At least eight people were shot in Chicago between Monday’s sunset and sunrise the next morning. One person died and two of the injured were teens — 14 and 15 years old. The shootings were concentrated on the South and West sides, with half of them occurring during the first two hours after midnight. All of the victims were male. Chicago saw 350 shootings and 44 murders this year through Feb. 28, according to official police statistics. Those numbers are up 20% over the same period last year. Gun violence in Chicago exploded in 2020, when shootings and murders outpaced the previous year by 50%.
