97th CAA: Co-ops await with bated heart as SC to pronounce verdict SC to decide if ratification by half of state legislatures is needed The apex court of the land may finally announce its judgement today (Tuesday) on the fate and future of the much-touted co-op related constitutional amendment act, billed as a game changer for the cooperative sector. According to PTI the Supreme Court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on Tuesday on the Centre’s plea challenging the Gujarat High Courts 2013 decision striking down certain provisions of the 97 th constitutional amendment. A three-judge bench of Justice RF Nariman, Justice KM Joseph, and Justice BR Gavai had reserved the order on July 8, after hearing extensive arguments by Attorney General KK Venugopal, Adv Masoom Shah and Senior Adv Prakash Jain and Advocate Ritika Shah.
