A Virtual Farewell Writer: Naomi Lemieux Graduation ceremonies in Hawaii are often a very social time with the smell of lei filling the air and the sounds of cheers echoing through Edith Kanaka’ole Stadium. This is where students get their moment to walk across the stage and close that chapter of their life. This semester’s commencement ceremony will once again be held online, as stated in an email by Office of Chancellor Bonnie Irwin on Nov. With hopes that we would have made progress with the pandemic, there was undoubtedly a twinge of disappointment when the announcement came through.
