FINDING A COMMUNITY AMONG EMERGING RESEARCHERS For more than a decade, the Emerging Researchers National Conference in STEM has brought together undergraduate and graduate student researchers in STEM – especially those from underrepresented minority groups and those with disabilities – and given them opportunities to develop critical communication skills and prepare for science careers in a global workforce. The conference, co-hosted by AAAS and the National Science Foundation Division of Human Resource Development, started specifically for students who participate in programs funded by the NSF HRD Unit but has grown to include student researchers around the country.
