The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County rose for the first time since January 8th, when 901 cases were recorded. That number had declined uninterrupted until today, when 41 new cases outnumbered the 31 recoveries, raising the active case total by 10 to 229. That’s a 20% positive rate out of the 200 tests received. Hospitalizations rose by 2 to 5. 12,621 confirmed cases of the coronavirus have so far been confirmed by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, and 125 have lost their lives to it. In terms of the 2-week rates and trajectories, Sheboygan County is experiencing a “high” level of activity – the middle point of such classifications – after peaking at the highest “critically high” category in November. Now, there are 169.4 cases per 100,000 persons, with no significant change in trajectories. And still with that in mind, the overall decline in activity over the last month has been unmistakable.
