Activist photos reignite winter grazing debate in Southland


He is adamant the practise of intensive winter grazing needs to end now, for environmental and animal welfare reasons.
But farmers are fighting back just as strongly, and among the comments his post attracted were some who questioned if his photos have been edited, that it didn’t show some context, and the timing was questioned – it was taken right after a storm dumped snow and rain on Southland.
Some farmers commenting on the facebook posts say Reid is selectively taking photos to make winter grazing look bad.
Reid is adamant his photos have not been edited nor has he taken photos that are misleading the public.
