Adele Devlin (83) passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2023 in Waupaca, Wisconsin after a short battle with cancer. Adele Marie Devlin (Barrot) was born on November 25th, 1939 to Marguerite and Orville Barrot in Forest Lake Minnesota. She grew up in St. Cloud, Minnesota and attended St. Cloud Tech. Upon graduating she completed an accounting program and procured her beauticians license and with a friend set off on a grand adventure that led her to New Haven, Connecticut. Here she met the love of her life, Alfred Devlin. They returned to Minnesota several years later and made their home in the Nary area. It was there that they raised their 3 children and became a part of a thriving community. Adele was always busy as she raised her children, whether it was helping to lead Pioneer Girls or volunteering to help with 4-H, she was always available to serve her community. She was an election judge for many years and was a part of the Nary Community Board. She worked for a few years at Kenny’s Amoco and then for many more at Midway Garden in Bemidji. When they closed she became a part of Country Greenhouse that later became Hill’s Country Greenhouse. She loved the feel and smell of things growing and shared her vast knowledge of the process with many. Several years ago she moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family and became a part of a wonderful group of people at Rose Glen Apartments. She made many friends and will be missed by them all. She is survived by her 3 children, Beth (Shore), Jeffrey Devlin, and Peter and Kathy Devlin, three grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by many of the Horace and Florence Tuck family that while they are not family in blood, have been a part of her family for over 50 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her brothers. At her request there will not be a funeral service, but instead there will be a graveside memorial service to be set for a future date.
