On March 15, 2020, Gov. Charlie Baker closed all schools in the Commonwealth for three weeks, beginning Tuesday, March 17, until at least April 6, 2020. Weeks turned into months. That was almost one year ago, a year of Amesbury students attending school remotely or, at best, in the hybrid learning model.
Last spring the Amesbury Public Schools were in the remote learning model for all students, but in October and November they gradually switched into the hybrid learning model. By early December all Amesbury public schools were in the hybrid model.
Students participating in the hybrid model receive four days of live, synchronous instruction - two days in-person and two days remote. Wednesday is asynchronous for all learners.
